Gaming managers are have responsibility for the overall operation of a casino's table games. Gaming supervisors monitor gaming operations and workers in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they see that all stations and games are attended to for each shift. It also is typical for supervisors to interpret the casino's operating laws for gamblers. Supervisors may also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have clear leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these talents both to supervise workers efficiently and to greet guests in order to boost return visits. Almost all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor's degree. Despite their educational background, however, almost all supervisors gain expertise in other gaming jobs before moving into supervisory desks because an understanding of games and casino operations is quite essential for these staff.
